Data Modeler

 

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Data Modeler with deep understanding of FHaIR (Fast Healthcare Interoperability Resources) to join our growing team. As a Data Modeler, you will design and implement scalable, interoperable data structures for healthcare applications, ensuring they align with FHIR standards and best practices.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain logical and physical data models focused on FHIR resources, profiles, and extensions.
  • Map legacy healthcare data structures to FHIR-compliant models.
  • Collaborate with business analysts, developers, and stakeholders to gather requirements and translate into robust data models.
  • Ensure data integrity, consistency, privacy, and security in modeling activities.
  • Define and maintain data dictionaries, metadata, and documentation for FHIR-based models.
  • Provide support for FHIR implementation projects and integration of FHIR with other standards (HL7v2, CDA, etc).
  • Conduct data quality assessments and recommend improvements.
  • Stay up to date with emerging FHIR standards and contribute to internal standards and best practices.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Health Informatics, or related discipline.
  • 3+ years professional experience in data modeling, data architecture, or a related field, preferably in healthcare.
  • Strong knowledge of FHIR standards, structures, resource definitions, and implementation guides.
  • Experience with modeling tools (e.g., ERwin, Sparx Enterprise Architect, Visio, or equivalent).
  • Familiarity with healthcare interoperability standards (HL7, CDA, CCD, etc.).
  • Proficient with relational and NoSQL databases.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
