Job Description:
· We are looking for a Data Governance Analyst with experience in data management, data governance, metadata management, or a similar field.
· The ideal candidate will have strong technical skills, hands-on experience with data governance platforms, and the ability to communicate effectively with business, BI, engineering, and data stewardship stakeholders.
· This role sits within the central Data Governance team and supports governance onboarding activities across multiple brands and business functions.
· The role works closely with data delivery teams to intake, validate, curate, and onboard governed data assets, including datasets, dashboards, KPIs, reports, business terms, systems, and data quality rules, into the enterprise data catalog and governance platforms.
· The analyst will support enterprise data governance initiatives by ensuring governed assets are accurately represented, metadata is complete and reliable, ownership is clearly defined, lineage is captured where applicable, and data management best practices are consistently applied across the organization.
· This role requires someone who is a self-starter, highly organized, comfortable working across multiple priorities, and able to context switch effectively across governance onboarding, stakeholder coordination, metadata validation, and delivery support activities.
· The candidate should be comfortable working in an agile delivery environment and collaborating with teams across time zones. Overlap with U.S. Eastern Time working hours is preferred to support handoffs, working sessions, and collaboration with the U.S.-based team.
Responsibilities:
· Support the implementation and operationalization of enterprise data governance policies, standards, and procedures.
· Deliver data governance assessments to ensure project teams and business units consistently apply global data standards.
· Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including business stakeholders, BI teams, data engineering, platform teams, and data stewards, to validate and onboard governed data assets produced through delivery processes.
· Support data stewardship activities, including onboarding and ongoing maintenance of assets within the enterprise data catalog.
· Ensure completeness and accuracy of governance metadata, including business descriptions, technical descriptions, ownership, domains, classifications, lineage, data quality rules, and usage context.
· Interpret business and technical artifacts, such as KPI definitions, source-to-target mappings, reports, dashboards, datasets, and process documentation, and translate them into structured governance metadata.
· Perform metadata scanning, data domain discovery, data curation, and lineage documentation to improve data transparency and trust.
· Support administration and maintenance of governance assets in tools such as Informatica Axon, Informatica EDC, Informatica CDGC, MCC, or IDMC.
· Assist in creating and managing governance assets, including glossaries, systems, datasets, policies, processes, data quality rules, and stewardship workflows.
· Support profiling, rule specification, task flows, and data quality validation activities to improve data reliability and usability.
· Coordinate intake and onboarding activities by breaking incoming work into trackable tasks and managing progress using tools such as Jira.
· Support agile delivery routines, including backlog refinement, sprint planning, prioritization, status updates, and handoffs across teams.
· Manage multiple governance workstreams and project priorities in parallel while maintaining attention to detail and delivery quality.
· Provide support for data governance projects and initiatives, ensuring alignment with business objectives, governance standards, and delivery timelines.
· Partner with stakeholders to identify metadata gaps, resolve data ownership issues, and drive adoption of data governance best practices.
Qualifications:
· 2-4 years of experience in data governance, data management, metadata management, data quality, data stewardship, analytics, or a related field.
· Hands-on experience with data governance or data catalog platforms.
· Experience with Informatica Axon and/or Informatica EDC.
· Understanding of core data governance concepts, including business glossary management, data ownership, metadata management, lineage, data domains, data quality, and policy management.
· Ability to analyze and interpret business and technical documentation, including KPI definitions, data mappings, reports, dashboards, and dataset specifications.
· Strong technical aptitude with the ability to understand complex datasets, data flows, and governance requirements.
· Experience working with Jira or similar work management tools to manage, track, and report progress.
· Experience working in an agile delivery environment.
· Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across business and technical teams.
· Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
· Self-starter with strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities, context switch, and deliver quality outputs in a fast-paced environment.
· Ability to support collaboration and handoffs with U.S.-based teams; overlap with U.S. Eastern Time working hours is preferred.
Preferred Qualifications:
· Experience with Informatica CDGC, MCC, IDMC, Informatica Cloud, or Informatica on-premise governance solutions.
· Experience administering or supporting Informatica Axon, including creation and management of glossaries, systems, datasets, processes, policies, and data quality rules.
· Experience with Informatica EDC, including metadata scanning, data domain discovery, data curation, custom lineage, and catalog enrichment.
· Familiarity with data profiling, rule specification, data quality workflows, and governance task flows.
· Experience supporting data integration activities, mappings, transformations, or data pipeline documentation.
· Experience participating in data governance proof-of-concepts, platform implementations, or governance tool rollouts.
· Experience working with stakeholders across industries such as retail, restaurants, banking, government, or enterprise technology.
· Exposure to enterprise data ecosystems, including cloud data platforms, BI platforms, data lakes, data warehouses, and reporting environments.
· Experience working with distributed teams across time zones, especially with U.S.-based stakeholders.
